This is a documentation chapter disguised as a training module. It shows you exactly where to click to create a prompt tool in Copilot Studio, but not much about why or when you'd choose one design over another. Do this only if you are already building a copilot and need this specific recipe.

Best for
Makers or low-code developers already inside the Microsoft ecosystem who need a quick tour of Copilot Studio prompt actions.
Watch for
Very little conceptual explanation; mostly a procedural 'click here' guide.

Who it's for
Makers or low-code developers already inside the Microsoft ecosystem who need a quick tour of Copilot Studio prompt actions.
Who should skip it
Anyone looking for a conceptual deep dive into prompting or building agents from scratch.
Pros
Short, self-contained walkthrough of a specific feature.
Hands-on exercise uses a real-world scenario (summarizing an email).
Up-to-date with recent Copilot Studio branding.
Cons
Very little conceptual explanation; mostly a procedural 'click here' guide.
Feels more like documentation than a lesson.
Relies on a lot of surrounding ecosystem knowledge.
Pasting in that giant block of pre-written prompt text was a letdown. I was hoping for guidance on *how* to write a prompt for summarizing emails, not just where to put it. The text uses placeholders like `{Topic}` without explaining the trade-offs. The lab is really just a guided tour for finding the right text boxes and buttons in the Copilot Studio UI; there's no real 'building' involved.
It feels like one piece of a much larger puzzle. It assumes you already know what a declarative agent is and why you'd want to extend it. Without that context, I was mostly just following instructions. I finished it in about half an hour, but I don't feel like I learned a transferable skill, just where a specific feature lives. I'll have to find other resources to understand prompt engineering itself.
