Reviewer's verdict

A solid 25-minute product tour of Azure ML's interfaces, masquerading as a one-hour course. It's a useful orientation map before you tackle a real tutorial.

Absolute beginners needing a quick tour of the Azure ML interface.

Watch for

The 'exercise' is just a guided click-through, not a real problem to solve.

Who it's for

Absolute beginners needing a quick tour of the Azure ML interface.

Who should skip it

Anyone looking to build or code a real project.

Pros

  • Quick, clear overview of the three main ways to interact with an Azure ML workspace.
  • Uses the latest v2 of the SDK and CLI.
  • Interactive lab environment is provided, no local setup needed.

Cons

  • The 'exercise' is just a guided click-through, not a real problem to solve.
  • Covers a lot of ground very superficially.
  • The knowledge check is extremely basic.

The guided exercise just has you copy-pasting commands. In the Python SDK section, you get a notebook, but the only goal is to run pre-written cells to see that it connects. Don’t expect to write any code. This whole thing is a visual dictionary for the Azure ML workspace: here's the button in the Studio, here's the equivalent `az ml` command, here's the `ml_client` object. It’s useful for exactly that—getting your bearings before you start a real project or a more involved tutorial that assumes you know your way around. I was hoping for a tiny bit more of a challenge in the lab, maybe a small data file to actually register. Instead, you just verify things exist. It’s a good first 30 minutes in the ecosystem, but plan on immediately moving to another module.
