Reviewer's verdict

A quick, conceptual primer for educators completely new to AI, but offers no practical skills or depth. Skip if you've ever written a single prompt.

Who it's for

K-12 teachers who have never used Copilot and want a quick conceptual overview.

Who should skip it

Anyone looking for technical skills, prompt engineering techniques, or hands-on practice.

Pros

  • Extremely short, can be completed quickly.
  • Provides basic vocabulary for educators new to AI.
  • Connects AI use to pedagogical concepts like lesson planning.

Cons

  • No hands-on component; it's just reading about using AI.
  • Content is very superficial, mostly high-level metaphors.
  • The 'knowledge check' is a simple multiple-choice quiz that doesn't test real skills.

It's strange to take a module about using a tool where you don't actually use the tool. This whole thing is just text and a few graphics about how you *could* use Copilot to brainstorm lesson plans. The main idea is 'AI as a partner, not a replacement,' which is fine, but the advice is incredibly generic. One section talks about curating AI ideas, but it never shows a real example of a bad output and how to refine it. It’s all just talk.

The final quiz was also disappointing. The questions were simple vocabulary checks on terms defined three paragraphs earlier. I finished in about 20 minutes feeling like I had just read a blog post. I get that it's for educators, but even they deserve something more substantial than a PowerPoint deck converted to a webpage.
