Reviewer's verdict

This is a product marketing deck, not a course. It explains what Copilot Chat is, but offers zero hands-on practice or real skill development.

Who it's for

Business users inside the Microsoft 365 ecosystem looking for a quick product tour.

Who should skip it

Anyone seeking technical skills, prompt engineering techniques, or hands-on practice.

Pros

  • Quick, high-level overview of Microsoft Copilot Chat.
  • Clearly distinguishes between 'Work' and 'Web' modes.
  • The 'Ace Interviews' exercise is a somewhat concrete use case.

Cons

  • Purely a product brochure; no hands-on labs or interactive elements.
  • Feels like a sales deck converted into a learning module.
  • The 'intermediate' label is misleading; it's basic product marketing.
  • Lacks any real depth on how to craft effective prompts.

The 'intermediate' tag is what got me. I thought, okay, maybe this goes beyond the usual 'AI is a thing' and into how Copilot Chat actually works, or at least some clever prompting tricks. But forty minutes later, I feel like I just read a very long, very polite advertisement. The whole thing is a product tour. It explains the difference between 'Work mode' (your company data) and 'Web mode' (Bing). That part was clear. But there's nothing to *do*.

The so-called 'Exercise - Ace interviews with Copilot Chat' isn't an exercise. It's a set of example prompts and their hypothetical outputs. There's no sandbox, no lab, not even a text box to try things out in. You just read about what Copilot could do if you had it. It's like a car manual without the car. I was hoping for something I could apply, even to a generic chatbot, but the advice is all tied to a product I can't access through the module.

I get that it's for business users, but even for them, this feels thin. It’s all about the 'what' and 'why,' completely skipping the 'how.' You'll learn the marketing points for Copilot Chat, but you won't learn to actually use it better. If you need a slide deck to convince your manager to buy a license, this might be useful. If you're looking to build any actual skills, this is a pass.
