Reviewer's verdict

It’s a guided product tour, not a hands-on lab. Useful for a quick first look at the interface, but don't expect to build any real skills here.

Who it's for

Students wanting a quick, interactive look at Security Copilot's UI.

Who should skip it

Learners needing real-world practice or non-Microsoft tool exposure.

Pros

  • No setup required, just click through the browser.
  • Covers multiple embedded experiences (Purview, Defender).
  • Good for visualizing what the tool does.

Cons

  • Not a real sandbox; it's a guided tour with pre-set answers.
  • Feels more like a product demo than a training module.
  • Lacks depth on the 'why' behind the prompts.

It's not a sandbox. It’s an interactive slideshow. You click on highlighted areas, type the exact text it tells you to, and watch a canned response appear. I finished the whole thing in under an hour just clicking along. It does give a decent visual overview of the UI across Defender and Purview, which is probably better than just watching a video.

But there’s zero room for exploration. I tried entering my own prompts to see what would happen—it just errors out until you type the scripted line. I get it, it's a simulation, but it feels more like an extended marketing demo. I learned what the buttons look like and what a sample prompt-response pair is. That's about it. It’s a fast way to get a feel for the product, but you won't leave knowing how to actually use it for a real incident.
