Reviewer's verdict

This is a product tour, not a technical training module. It tells you which Microsoft products plug into SAP RISE, but it won't teach you how to do the plugging.

Who it's for

SAP administrators or Azure architects looking for a high-level overview of Microsoft's security integrations with SAP RISE.

Who should skip it

Engineers looking for hands-on labs or technical implementation details.

Pros

  • Quick summary of Microsoft security products for SAP.
  • Introduces concepts like Security Copilot and Sentinel for SAP.
  • Good for mapping product names to functions.

Cons

  • Zero hands-on exercises or labs.
  • Feels like a series of product brochures.
  • Doesn't go beyond surface-level architectural diagrams.
  • Not useful for actual implementation.

That unit on using Sentinel's automatic response capabilities was just a diagram. No sandbox, no CLI, no code. The whole thing felt like flipping through a sales deck for Sentinel and Security Copilot. It's just marketing copy explaining that, in theory, you can connect Microsoft Entra to SAP RISE. It’s a tour of product names.

I guess if my boss asks, “Does Sentinel work with SAP?” I can now say yes and point to that diagram. That’s the only real takeaway. I was hoping for at least a simulated log query or a walkthrough of setting up an SSO policy, but it never gets there. You don't build anything. You don't even configure anything. It just tells you that configuration is possible.
