Who it's for
Security engineers needing a quick catalog of Azure security features for app services.
Who should skip it
Product managers or leaders looking for the 'why' behind security decisions.
Pros
Broad overview of many Azure security products in one place.
Up-to-date content covering current services like AKS and Container Apps.
Acts as a useful checklist of security knobs to turn.
Cons
Overwhelming list of features without explaining the underlying threats.
Feels like reading a product manual, not learning a strategy.
Lacks context for non-engineers; too much jargon.
The Defender for Containers unit just dumped a list of features at me. It felt less like a training module and more like someone read the product documentation aloud. My goal was to understand the *risks*—what are we actually defending against when we secure a container? Instead, I got a tour of buttons to click in the Azure portal. I kept asking myself, 'Okay, but why this setting and not another?' The path never answered that.
It's a huge catalog of security controls for everything from AKS to Function apps. I now have a giant checklist of things our engineers could be doing. But I still can't have an intelligent conversation about which ones are critical for our product versus which are just nice-to-haves. It connected the products to the features, but not the features to the business problem.
