Reviewer's verdict

A quick, current overview of Purview's capabilities for administrators, but it's not deep technical training. It's a product tour, not a workshop.

Who it's for

IT admins refreshing on Purview features, especially the Security Copilot integration.

Who should skip it

Data scientists or engineers needing programmatic access or deep governance theory.

Pros

  • Up-to-date content, covers Security Copilot.
  • Good, high-level overview of the Purview ecosystem for M365.
  • Quick to complete.

Cons

  • Very little hands-on practice; mostly reading and watching gifs.
  • More of a product tour than a technical training.
  • Doesn't go into the 'why' behind the policies.

The Security Copilot module was the only part that felt new. The rest is a standard tour of Purview's UI: define a sensitive info type, click to apply a label, build a basic DLP policy. The content is current, which is good, but it’s presented as screenshots and animated gifs. There are no real labs or sandboxes to test configurations. You just read what each button does.

I was hoping for more on the underlying logic—how policies are evaluated, precedence rules, or even API-level controls for automation. Instead, it's a very admin-centric, point-and-click walkthrough. It shows *what* Purview can do inside M365, but it doesn't build the skills to debug a complex policy conflict or design a scalable governance strategy. It’s a good two-hour brief for a manager, not a practitioner.
