Reviewer's verdict

A useful, free quick-start guide for the absolute basics of M365 Copilot administration, but it's more of a product manual than a training course. Don't expect to learn any real skills here.

Pros

  • Provides a structured overview of M365 Copilot admin tasks.
  • Completely free to access on Microsoft Learn.
  • Covers key concepts like license management and usage monitoring.

Cons

  • No sandbox or hands-on labs; purely theoretical.
  • Content is very high-level and feels like reading documentation.
  • Knowledge check questions are too simple and don't test real understanding.

The license management unit was just a link to the Microsoft 365 admin center, with screenshots showing how to assign licenses you don’t have. That’s this whole module in a nutshell: a guided tour of a house you’re not allowed to enter. I get that giving every student a live M365 tenant with Copilot licenses to play with isn't feasible for a free module. But without a sandbox, what am I actually learning? I'm just reading documentation that's been broken into smaller web pages.

The sections on monitoring usage and adoption were the same. They show you where the dashboards are and what the charts look like, but you can't click on anything or see how the data changes. The unit on managing prompts talks about Prompt Manager in Copilot Studio, which was interesting, but again, it’s just a description. I ended up opening another tab and hunting for a separate Copilot Studio tutorial just to see what they were talking about.

The entire experience feels less like learning and more like preparing for a sales call. It's a checklist of features. The knowledge check questions are just multiple-choice versions of the preceding text. If you can read, you can pass. This isn't training; it's a product brief.
