A solid, no-cost introduction to OpenTelemetry on Azure. It's a guided tour, not a deep dive, but it effectively connects the dots between instrumentation and monitoring.

Who it's for
Developers who need a quick, structured intro to OpenTelemetry in the Azure ecosystem.

Pros
Covers the modern OpenTelemetry standard, not legacy tools.
Clear walkthrough of instrumenting code and using Azure Monitor.
Feels more like a product tour than a troubleshooting course.
Exercises are very guided; not much room for independent problem-solving.
Sandbox environment is slow to provision at times.
My sandbox took a solid five minutes to spin up. I was worried this would be another broken lab. It wasn't, but the exercises are extremely on-rails. You copy-paste code snippets to instrument a sample app with OpenTelemetry, push it, and then run some pre-written Kusto queries in Azure Monitor to see the traces. There isn't really any 'troubleshooting' involved—you're just observing a system that works perfectly.
It did a decent job of showing the end-to-end flow from code to dashboard, which a lot of tutorials skip over. The path is just a wrapper for two standalone modules, 'Instrument an app with OpenTelemetry' and 'Analyze app telemetry'. If you've done one, you can skip straight to the other. For a couple of hours, it's a fine overview of the tools.
