A useful, if dry, tour of M365's AI admin dashboards. It's a glorified user manual, but it points you to the right menus for free. Don't expect to learn how to 'optimize' anything.

Who it's for
Admins needing a quick map of M365 AI reporting dashboards.
Who should skip it
Anyone looking for hands-on practice or deep technical monitoring skills.
Pros
Quick overview of where to find various Copilot reports.
Clear screenshots of the admin center.
Covers cost reconciliation, which is often overlooked in intro materials.
Cons
No actual sandbox or live environment to practice in.
The 'exercises' are just multiple-choice questions about the reading.
Feels more like documentation than a course.
The 'Reconcile Copilot agent costs' exercise was a single multiple-choice question asking which report shows billing. The answer was in the text right above it. It took two minutes. There’s no sandbox, no sample data, not even a simulated environment. You just read a description of the Microsoft 365 admin center, look at a screenshot, and then answer a comprehension question.
I get that these Learn modules are free—it's why I'm here. But this one barely feels like training. It's an interactive chapter of the product docs. The whole thing was about 45 minutes of reading about different reporting sources: Usage reports, Copilot agent usage reports, Service Health, etc. It's a useful map, I guess. If you're an admin who's never seen these dashboards, it shows you where to click.
The title is 'Monitor and optimize.' We do a lot of 'monitoring' by looking at static pictures of reports, but there is zero 'optimizing.' The module doesn't discuss what to do with the information. If adoption is low, what levers can you pull? If costs are high, what are the strategies to manage them besides just reading the bill? It never goes there. It’s just a tour of the dashboard. A necessary one, maybe, but don't come here expecting a hands-on lab or any real problem-solving skills.
