Reviewer's verdict

This is a product manual, not a course. It's a fast way to see the admin UI, but you won't build or manage anything with it.

Who it's for

IT admins or consultants needing a quick overview of M365 Copilot's admin panel.

Who should skip it

Developers or anyone looking for hands-on configuration or API details.

Pros

  • Quick, direct tour of the M365 admin center settings for Copilot.
  • Covers key compliance and data security toggles in Purview.
  • Up-to-date with recent features like the Copilot usage dashboard.

Cons

  • Zero hands-on labs; it's a slideshow of UI screenshots.
  • Feels like reading documentation, not learning a skill.
  • Doesn't go beyond surface-level descriptions of what each button does.

A client asked if I could help them lock down their new M365 Copilot setup. My first thought was to find the actual controls, not just marketing fluff. This module looked like a direct path. It is direct, I'll give it that. But it's not a course. It's a slideshow of screenshots from the M365 admin center.

There are no labs. There's no tenant to play with. You just read descriptions of what each toggle does. The "Manage Web Access" unit shows you a picture of the toggle. The "Monitor Value" unit shows you a picture of the dashboard. That's it. It’s like someone reading a car manual to you over the phone. You hear about the buttons, but you never get to press them.

The sections on Microsoft Purview were the only parts with any substance. It pointed me toward where the real data protection controls live, which is what I needed. But even then, it just described the feature. It didn't walk through setting up a sensitivity label or a DLP policy for AI prompts. I ended up having to find that in separate Purview documentation anyway.

This is for an IT manager who needs to brief their boss in 30 minutes on what the settings screen looks like. For anyone who actually has to implement and troubleshoot this stuff, it’s just an index. You get a list of features, then you have to go find the real docs yourself.
