This is a necessary but insufficient guide for M365 admins. Treat it as a pre-flight checklist before a live deployment, not as comprehensive training.

Who it's for
M365 admins needing a structured overview of Copilot's admin-facing features.
Who should skip it
Developers, end-users, or anyone looking for hands-on labs or deep technical architecture.
Pros
Content is very current, reflecting recent updates.
Clear explanation of the Zero Trust security model as it applies to Copilot.
Provides a solid checklist for enabling and configuring Copilot in an M365 tenant.
Cons
No hands-on labs or sandbox environments; it's entirely text and screenshots.
Feels more like an extended product manual than a training course.
Lacks depth on troubleshooting or complex deployment scenarios.
The first module, on applying Zero Trust to Microsoft Copilots, is just a restatement of existing Zero Trust principles mapped onto a new product. It's correct, but thin. If you've worked in enterprise security for any length of time, you could probably write this section yourself. The real content starts in the second and third modules, which are basically guided tours of the Microsoft 365 admin center.
The screenshots are current as of late 2024, which I appreciate. You can see the exact toggles for enabling Copilot, managing licenses via the Teams admin center, and configuring data governance policies through Purview. I kept it open on one monitor while cross-referencing our actual tenant settings on another. It’s a decent visual reference.
My main issue is that this isn't training; it's documentation formatted as a learning path. There are no sandboxes, no practice scenarios, no 'what-if' exercises. The knowledge checks are simple recall questions about which setting is found in which portal. It tells you *what* the buttons do but gives almost no insight into the *why* or the potential downstream consequences of a particular configuration. For instance, it covers enabling the Copilot plugin for web search but doesn't dig into the data exfiltration risks or how to audit that specific activity effectively. It's a manual, a good one, but just a manual.
