A solid, free 90-minute tour of a core Azure service. The sandbox is great, but don't expect to build anything complex off it without further study.

Who it's for
Developers on Azure needing a quick overview of App Configuration.
Who should skip it
Those looking for deep architectural comparisons or non-Azure config management.
Pros
Completely free, including the sandbox environment.
Clear explanation of the difference between App Configuration and Key Vault.
Hands-on exercise is practical and uses a real sandbox.
Cons
The exercise is very prescriptive; you just copy-paste commands.
Ends just as it gets interesting; only covers basic retrieval.
The 'AI solutions' framing feels a bit forced for what is a general-purpose tool.
The built-in Azure sandbox is the whole point here. You get a temporary subscription without putting a credit card down, which is perfect. I ran through the exercise, setting up an App Configuration store and pulling a setting into a sample app. It's mostly copy-pasting CLI commands, so you can't really get lost.
The best part was the section explaining *when* to use App Configuration versus Key Vault. I’ve seen that question come up a lot. It’s for config, they're for secrets. Simple. The module does its job: it shows you what the service is and gives you the exact commands to use it once. A good use of an hour and a half since it's completely free. It just stops right when you'd want to learn about dynamic updates or more complex scenarios.
