This is a product tour, not a technical course. Use it as a set of release notes to decide which new features are worth a deeper dive elsewhere, but don't expect to learn how to do anything here.

Database administrators wanting a high-level overview of new SQL Server 2025 features.
Zero hands-on practice; it's a text-and-image-only module.
Database administrators wanting a high-level overview of new SQL Server 2025 features.
Beginners trying to learn SQL, developers looking for code samples, anyone needing hands-on practice.
Unit 2, 'Deploy SQL Server 2025 and explore feature differences,' is a real bait-and-switch. You get a screenshot of an installation wizard, and that’s it. No sandbox, no container to pull, not a single line of T-SQL to run. The whole thing is just a PowerPoint deck converted to a webpage. The 'AI-Powered Features' unit talks about the query optimizer using reinforcement learning, which sounds amazing, but you never actually see it. It’s just a paragraph of text. It feels like trying to learn about nutrition by reading the back of a cereal box.
I get that it's an introduction. But the title is 'Get started,' and I was hoping for an experience that involved, you know, getting started. Even a tiny sample database with one or two challenges would have made this a hundred times more useful. Instead, the entire 90 minutes is just a catalog of new features. The knowledge check at the end was a joke; one question was literally to pick the name of the new version from a list. I passed with 100% just by skimming unit titles.
This is pure marketing material. It's useful if you're a DBA with 10 years of experience who just wants a bulleted list of what changed between versions. For a student like me, it was a waste of time. I learned *about* SQL Server 2025, but I didn't learn any SQL Server.
