A documentation module disguised as a course. It shows you the buttons to click if you already have an MCP server, but you won't build or learn anything practical without one.

Who it's for
Power Platform developers who must integrate with a system that only speaks MCP.
Who should skip it
Anyone looking for a hands-on lab or a general introduction to agent integration.
Pros
Very recent, covers a new protocol (MCP).
Clear screenshots of the wizard UI.
Explains the difference between MCP, connectors, and direct REST APIs.
Cons
No actual sandbox or hands-on practice; it's a documentation walkthrough.
Requires a running MCP server to do anything, which is not provided.
The 'Advanced' label is misleading; it's procedurally advanced but technically shallow.
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) onboarding wizard was the star here. Every step was a screenshot. Click this, paste that. Except I had nothing to paste. The module walks you through connecting Copilot Studio to an MCP server, but doesn't provide a sandbox, a dummy endpoint, or even a public one to test against. It's like getting a detailed IKEA manual for a desk I don't own and can't buy.
I spent an hour clicking through what is essentially a glorified PowerPoint deck. You see the screens for setting up API key auth and OAuth 2.0. You read about when to use MCP instead of a standard connector or REST API (a good distinction, to be fair). But you never *do* any of it. There's no practice at all. The knowledge check at the end just tests if you remember the names of the buttons shown in the pictures.
It's labeled 'Advanced', which I guess is true in the sense that MCP is a niche, emerging thing. But the learning experience itself is totally passive. You're just a spectator. If your job specifically requires you to connect to a known MCP-enabled system tomorrow, this module is a useful five-minute preview of the UI. For anyone else, especially a student like me trying to build skills, it's a dead end. You walk away with zero practical ability you didn't have before.
