Who it's for

Architects or managers who need a high-level overview of Microsoft-SAP integrations.

Who should skip it

Engineers looking for code, tutorials, or implementation details.

Pros

  • Quick, high-level map of how Microsoft's AI/analytics products connect to SAP.
  • Introduces the right product names (Synapse, Power Platform, Copilot Studio).
  • Recent update means the concepts are current.

Cons

  • Zero hands-on activity; it's a glorified slide deck.
  • Filled with marketing language about 'business transformation'.
  • No technical depth, not even a single API call example.
  • The 'knowledge check' is trivial.

A diagram with logos for SAP, Power Automate, and Power Apps pointing at each other was the most technical this got. That's it. It told me I could connect them. The whole module is like this.

It feels like I sat through a pre-sales call where the goal was to drop as many product names as possible: Copilot Studio, Azure Synapse, Power BI. They’re all presented as magic boxes that 'provide insights' and 'accelerate transformation'. As someone who’s had to actually integrate SAP with external systems, I can tell you it’s never that simple. The real work is in the gnarly details of authentication, data mapping, and error handling—none of which are mentioned.

There's no lab. No code. The 'knowledge check' at the end just asks you to recall which product does what. I got through it in about 20 minutes while waiting for a build to finish. It helped me map out the Microsoft-approved architecture pattern, I guess. But I didn't learn how to build anything. I just learned what Microsoft wants to sell me. If you’re a DevOps engineer or a dev, your time is better spent finding a specific tutorial on connecting Power Automate to your SAP instance. This is for the VPs.
