A solid, hands-on hour to understand Azure's basic security setup for AI projects. Good for interview prep or as a prerequisite for more complex topics, but don't expect it to make you a security expert.

Who it's for
Developers or students needing a quick, hands-on primer on Azure's security primitives for AI services.
Who should skip it
Security professionals or anyone needing deep architectural guidance beyond basic configuration.
Pros
Quick, self-contained sandbox exercise.
Covers fundamental concepts like Entra ID principals and Azure Policy.
Up-to-date with current Azure terminology.
Cons
The sandbox environment is slow to deploy.
Covers 'what' to configure, but not much 'why'.
Feels more like a product tour than a deep learning experience.
Waiting ten minutes for the sandbox to spin up felt like an eternity for a one-hour module. Once it was running, the exercise was straightforward. You basically just follow a recipe: create a resource group, assign some roles, apply a policy. Click, click, done.
It’s useful for seeing how Microsoft Entra ID principals and Azure Policy connect to an actual ML workspace. I’d never configured a managed identity for a workspace before, so that part was new to me. The knowledge check at the end was also decent for reinforcing the terms.
This isn’t a deep dive, though. It’s a guided tour of the console buttons. At least now I can say I've configured it myself instead of just reading about it.
