This is a product tour, not a technical deep dive. It shows you the buttons for geo-replication in three specific Azure services, but doesn't teach you how to build a resilient system.

Who it's for
Azure admins who need a quick conceptual overview of specific geo-resiliency services.
Who should skip it
Engineers looking for practical implementation scripts or architectural trade-off discussions.
Pros
Introduces the concept of 'Microsoft Foundry Hubs'.
Sandbox exercise provides a guided, hands-on click-through.
Covers multiple Azure services (Storage, ACR) in one place.
Cons
Feels like a sales pitch for a new product, 'Foundry Hubs'.
Exercise is a paint-by-numbers lab with no room for error or exploration.
Skips over the hard parts: failover logic, network configuration, and cost.
Lacks depth on architectural decision-making.
The first unit introduces something called a 'Microsoft Foundry Hub,' and I had to double-check if I'd missed a memo. It seems to be new branding for coordinating regional resources, but the module treats it like it's been around forever. The whole thing felt less like training and more like a sales deck for this Foundry concept. They show you how to enable geo-redundancy for storage and geo-replication for a container registry, which is fine. The instructions are clear. You copy, you paste, the portal turns green. But that's it.
The hard parts are completely missing. Where's the discussion of failover triggers? What about the traffic management layer to actually route users to the secondary region? How do I handle data consistency and RPO/RTO in a real-world scenario where services aren't perfectly synced? The lab just has you click a button to replicate an ACR and then... stops. It doesn't simulate a failure or show you what to do when things go wrong. It’s a happy-path demo.
I get it, this is a 90-minute module. But calling it 'resilient AI-ready infrastructure' is a stretch. It's 'how to turn on replication for three Azure services'. The 'AI-ready' part just seems to be marketing because you might store models in the registry. I walked away knowing a new product name and where a few checkboxes are, but not how to architect a system that can actually survive a region going down.
