A useful, high-level map of Azure APIM's security tools, but it's more of a feature tour than a practical training module. Expect to do your own lab work elsewhere.

Who it's for
Security engineers needing a quick overview of Azure APIM security policies.
Who should skip it
Beginners needing hands-on labs or a deep dive into API security concepts.
Pros
Quick, dense overview of Azure APIM security features.
Covers modern topics like securing AI model endpoints.
No-cost way to get familiar with Azure's terminology and approach.
Cons
Purely a reading exercise; no sandbox or labs to apply the concepts.
Assumes significant prior knowledge of Azure and general network security.
The knowledge check is very simple and doesn't truly test understanding.
This one felt more like reading expanded documentation than a course. It's a fast tour of policies in Azure API Management—JWT validation, IP filtering, mTLS—but there's no sandbox to try any of it. Just text and diagrams. For a student, that's pretty abstract. I can now list the features, but I couldn't configure them from memory. The section on securing AI Gateway endpoints was interesting and felt current, which was good to see.
I finished it in about 30 minutes. The knowledge check at the end was just a multiple-choice quiz on definitions. It's a decent reference to have open *while* you're working in a real Azure environment, but as a standalone learning tool, it just gives you the vocabulary.
