Reviewer's verdict

A useful 45-minute vocabulary lesson to understand what your engineers are talking about, but it won't teach you how to do anything yourself.

Who it's for

PMs and business users needing a quick vocabulary list for Power Automate.

Who should skip it

Anyone looking to build a working flow. This is a glossary, not a workshop.

Pros

  • Quick overview of what's possible.
  • Distinguishes between cloud and desktop flows clearly.
  • Free and fast, low commitment.

Cons

  • Purely descriptive, no hands-on practice.
  • Feels like reading a product brochure.
  • Doesn't go beyond surface-level definitions.

Finally, a clear answer on cloud flows versus desktop flows. That was the one useful thing here. The rest of the module felt like reading a feature list a marketing team wrote for a sales deck. Triggers, actions, connectors... it's all just definitions. You read what they are, then take a quiz to prove you can repeat the definition. There's no 'why' and certainly no 'how'. The Copilot examples were just screenshots. I was hoping for a tiny interactive sandbox or at least a simulated prompt-and-response, but you just read about it. It’s free, so I can't complain too much. This is the kind of module you assign to a new business analyst so they understand the terminology in a meeting. It’s not a course for building anything. I still don't know how to connect our CRM to an approval email without asking IT for help, which was the whole point.
