This is a tactical how-to for data scientists already using Databricks. If you're in a non-technical role trying to understand the business impact, this isn't it.

Who it's for
Data teams wanting a quick, scripted intro to Hyperopt on Databrabs.
Who should skip it
Product managers or leaders looking for the 'why' behind tuning.
Pros
Provides a concrete sandbox to run code.
Clear, step-by-step instructions for a specific tool (Hyperopt).
Connects the dots between hyperparameter tuning and MLflow for tracking.
Cons
Zero business context. Assumes you already know why this matters.
Very narrow focus on one library within one platform.
Feels more like a product tutorial than a strategy lesson.
A big block of Python code appears. You copy-paste it. Then another. Okay, I see 'trials' and a number going down, so that's a good thing, I guess?
My data science lead talks about 'tuning' like it's some dark art that costs a lot of GPU time. I took this hoping to understand what a 'tuning run' actually looks like and what the levers are. I got the first part. I can now picture a notebook with `Hyperopt` commands. But the 'why' is missing. Why this search space? What's the business trade-off between a model that's 92% accurate and one that's 93%? When do we stop tuning?
This module answers none of that. It's purely a technical walkthrough for someone who's already been told 'go tune this model.' As a PM, it gave me a little more vocabulary but zero new decision-making frameworks.
