A solid one-hour project to see how low-code AI works for a real business task like invoice processing. Worth doing if you're exploring the Power Platform ecosystem.

Who it's for
Business users or developers wanting a quick, concrete demo of AI Builder.
Who should skip it
Anyone looking for deep AI/ML theory or Python coding.
Pros
Provides a concrete, end-to-end workflow example.
Clear, step-by-step instructions for a non-trivial task.
Good introduction to the capabilities of AI Builder and Power Automate.
Cons
Relies heavily on a specific product ecosystem (Power Platform).
The 'AI' is a black box; you don't learn how the model works.
Environment setup and trial licenses can be a small hurdle.
This was surprisingly solid for an hour-long module. The goal is to get invoices out of emails, have AI Builder read them, and then push an approval flow. A nice, contained project that actually does something useful.
Be prepared for the Power Platform trial setup. The instructions are clear, but I spent the first 15 minutes clicking through sign-up screens and waiting for environments to provision. Once you're in, it's smooth. The AI Builder part feels a bit like magic—you just tag a few sample invoices and it figures out where the amount and dates are. It’s a black box, for sure. You're not training a model, you're just using a service. But seeing it connect to Power Automate and fire off an approval email was the 'aha' moment. A good portfolio piece if you're aiming for a business analyst role.
