It's a product tour. It shows you which buttons to click in Fabric's Copilot, and that's it. Don't expect to learn how to write better SQL with it.

Who it's for
Data engineers already committed to the Fabric ecosystem
Who should skip it
Anyone looking for a critical take on AI coding assistants
Pros
Provides a quick, hands-on feel for the Fabric Copilot UI
Sandbox environment is pre-configured and works
Covers basic actions like generating T-SQL and notebook code
Cons
Feels more like a product demo than a training module
The 'best practices' are generic and could apply to any LLM
Doesn't address complex or ambiguous scenarios where you actually need help
You get a pre-loaded data warehouse, then the exercise asks you to have Copilot write some T-SQL. It writes the SQL. You run it. That's pretty much the whole thing. It feels like I was just a component in their user acceptance test. Click here, type this, see the magic. There’s no discussion of when the suggestions are wrong, how to refine a bad query, or what to do when it hallucinates a non-existent column. The 'best practices' section was a joke—generic advice like 'be specific' and 'review the code.' Thanks for that. I guess it confirms what Copilot *can* do inside Fabric. It completes code. It answers questions about your schema if you format the question right. But it doesn't teach you how to be a better engineer. It's an ad.
