A mandatory pre-flight checklist for anyone about to work with Azure ML. It won't teach you how to build a model, but it will save you hours of fumbling around the portal trying to figure out what a 'compute target' is.

Who it's for
Developers who need to quickly understand the Azure ML resource model and where things are located before starting a project.
Who should skip it
Anyone looking for ML theory or model-building guidance. This is purely an infrastructure tour.
Pros
Updated for the v2 SDK and CLI.
Hands-on sandbox lets you click around without setting up your own subscription.
Breaks down the concepts of workspace, compute, data assets, and environments cleanly.
Cons
Very little coding; mostly running pre-written scripts.
The 'developer tools' module is just a quick tour, not a deep dive.
Feels like a guided product manual, which might be exactly what you need (or don't).
If only I'd had this three months ago. I wasted a week trying to figure out the difference between a compute instance and a compute cluster. This path is the map of that territory. The labs are just running pre-canned scripts, so don't expect to build anything. You're just verifying that, yes, this command creates this thing over here. But that's the point. It’s a guided tour of the control panel, not a course on how to fly the plane. At least it's up to date with the v2 SDK; I was half-expecting to find ancient CLI commands. It's a necessary evil, but a quick one.
