A surprisingly interesting peek behind the curtain of enterprise AI deployment. It's not a hands-on coding lab, but it explains the 'why' behind all the corporate guardrails you hear about.

Who it's for
Aspiring IT admins, student tech workers, or anyone curious about the backend setup for enterprise AI.
Who should skip it
Developers or end-users looking to use Copilot, not deploy it.
Pros
Clear, step-by-step guide to the admin side of a major AI product.
The exercise on remediating oversharing is a concrete, useful concept.
Gives a good mental model of how large organizations have to think about security before rolling out new tools.
Cons
Exercises are simulations; you're just clicking through screenshots in a sandbox.
Assumes you have context as an M365 admin, which I don't.
Very specific to one product ecosystem.
I don't have a Microsoft 365 tenant to manage, so the 'interactive' exercises felt a bit like watching a video. You just click through screenshots of the admin center to find the readiness report or remediate data oversharing. It’s more a guided tour than a real sandbox. Still, I'm glad I went through it. The part about resolving oversharing risks before flipping the switch on an LLM was the most useful piece. It makes you realize how much of the work isn't about the AI model itself, but about cleaning up years of messy permissions. For a student like me, seeing the checklist a real admin has to go through was more valuable than the step-by-step clicks. It puts all the theory about data governance into a very concrete context.
