Who it's for
Internal Microsoft product demos for teams already committed to the M365 ecosystem.
Who should skip it
Anyone looking for hands-on experience, real-world examples, or API-level understanding.
Pros
Provides a quick, high-level tour of M365 Copilot's intended use cases across various apps.
Shows how different tools (Teams, OneNote, Whiteboard, Loop) are supposed to integrate.
Requires zero setup or prior knowledge.
Cons
No actual sandbox environment; you're just reading screenshots of what Copilot *would* do.
All examples are idealized and work perfectly, which isn't realistic.
Extremely basic; offers no technical depth or transferable skills beyond M365.
Feels more like a sales presentation than a training module.
The fourth unit, 'Use OneNote to create a support call template,' shows you a screenshot of a perfect prompt and its equally perfect output. There's no environment to try it yourself, no way to see what happens if you tweak the prompt, no mention of what data it's pulling from. You just click 'Continue'. It feels less like learning and more like watching a silent, pre-recorded sales demo on loop.
The point is to show what's *possible* with Copilot in a customer service context—linking Whiteboard journey maps to Teams meetings and Loop component checklists. It’s a vision of a perfectly integrated Office suite. But as a learning experience, it's hollow. You don't build anything. You don't solve any problems. You're a passenger, not a driver. The exercises are just reading comprehension checks on the previous slide of marketing copy. I came here hoping to understand how this works under the hood, or at least get some hands-on practice with prompting for specific business tasks. Instead, I got a slideshow. I could have gotten the same information from a 10-minute YouTube video and saved an hour. At least then I could have seen a real person's mouse moving. I still don't know what I would do if the output was wrong, how to refine it, or what its limitations are.
