Reviewer's verdict

This is a quick, guided product demo, not a skill-building course. Use it to see what Copilot can do, but don't expect to learn how to do it yourself.

Who it's for

New business users needing a quick tour of Copilot features.

Who should skip it

Anyone looking for technical skills or prompt engineering practice.

Pros

  • Quick, guided tour of M365 Copilot features.
  • No setup required; uses a pre-configured sandbox.
  • Covers multiple apps (Word, PowerPoint, Whiteboard).

Cons

  • Prompts are provided; no room for experimentation.
  • Exercises are just copy-paste.
  • Lacks depth and doesn't teach how to write good prompts.

I spent an hour just taking prompts from the sidebar and feeding them into the Copilot chat box. The sandbox is nice, no real license needed, but you can't go off-script. I tried tweaking a prompt in the Word exercise to compare reports from a different angle, and it just didn't work with the provided docs. You just follow the steps and get a checkmark.

All the 'use case' modules—Operations, Finance, HR—feel like the same basic demo with different fake documents. You see Copilot create a presentation from a Word doc, brainstorm on a whiteboard, and summarize chats. It shows you what *can* be done, but it doesn't teach you *how* to think with the tool. A good weekend project would be trying to replicate these results with your own prompts.
