Reviewer's verdict

This is a product demonstration, not a course. It's a quick way to see what Copilot *can* do, but you won't learn *how* to do anything without your own license.

Who it's for

Absolute beginners who have a Copilot license and want a guided tour of its buttons inside Microsoft 365.

Who should skip it

Anyone without an active Copilot for M365 license, or people looking for technical skills.

Pros

  • Well-structured walkthrough of a specific business persona's tasks.
  • Clear screenshots showing where to click in Teams, Word, etc.
  • Very recent content.

Cons

  • No actual hands-on environment; it's a simulated experience.
  • Quizzes are simple knowledge checks that repeat verbatim text from the previous page.
  • Useless without an active, paid M365 Copilot license to try things yourself.

The 'Use Word to Create an Executive Brief' exercise is where it hit me: this isn't a course. It's a marketing deck you click through. You read about a fictional exec, Contoso's CEO, needing a brief. You're shown a screenshot of the prompt to give Copilot. Then you're shown a screenshot of the output. The 'knowledge check' that follows is just asking you to recall what you just saw in the picture. There is no lab, no sandbox, no trial environment. You just… click next.

I went through the entire module in maybe 30 minutes, and I wasn't rushing. Every single 'exercise' is the same: read a scenario, look at a picture of Copilot solving it, and then answer a quiz. It’s the software equivalent of watching someone else play a video game. I don’t have a Copilot for M365 license (who does, on a student budget?), so I couldn't even try to replicate the prompts on my own machine. The whole experience felt hollow.

This seems designed for companies that have already bought thousands of Copilot seats and now need to convince their C-suite to actually use the thing. It's a user manual disguised as training. If you're a student like me trying to pick up real skills, this isn't it. You can't build anything with this. You can't put this on a resume. It’s just a tour of a product I don't have access to.
