This is a quick product demo, not a course for learning text analysis. It only makes sense if you're already committed to building with Microsoft Foundry.

Who it's for
Developers already inside the Microsoft Foundry ecosystem
Who should skip it
Beginners or those looking for general NLP skills
Pros
Introduces the concept of MCP agents and tool servers
Sandbox environment is pre-configured
Very recent, covering 2026 updates
Cons
The 'exercise' is just running a pre-written script
Feels more like a product tour than a learning module
MCP itself is not explained well, just used as a black box
Running the single Python script, `test.py`, spits out some JSON and that's it. You don't write any code, you don't even configure the MCP connection yourself. The agent, the tool server, the redaction—they're all just pre-canned calls. I spent more time reading the intro than doing the actual 'development'.
It feels like walking into the middle of a conversation. It assumes you already know what Microsoft Foundry is and why you'd want to use this 'MCP' thing instead of just calling the Language Service API directly. I had to go look up the other modules in the path just to get any context. This isn't a standalone tutorial on text analysis; it's a sales demo for a very specific Azure product stack. If you aren't already building agents with Foundry, there's not much here.
