Reviewer's verdict

A brief, low-stakes introduction to Copilot's features, but its vacation-planning theme makes it hard to map to actual business problems.

Who it's for

Absolute beginners looking for a guided tour of a consumer-grade AI chat tool.

Who should skip it

Product managers or business users seeking to integrate AI into their actual workflows.

Pros

  • Extremely gentle on-ramp for those intimidated by AI.
  • Clear, step-by-step instructions on using Microsoft Copilot for a single task.
  • Introduces basic prompt engineering concepts like tone and format.

Cons

  • The 'dream destination' example feels disconnected from business use cases.
  • Doesn't go beyond what a 10-minute YouTube video could cover.
  • No real challenge; the prompts and expected outputs are given to you.

This path is a single, guided exercise: use Copilot to plan a trip to Kyoto. It gives you the exact prompts to use, like 'suggest five lesser-known attractions' or 'write a three-day itinerary in a table format.' You copy, paste, and check the box. So, yes, it shows you that an AI can generate text, reformat it, and adopt a different tone. But the connection to my work as a PM is a stretch. I can see how 'generate a list' maps to brainstorming feature ideas, or 'write in a professional tone' maps to drafting user comms. The problem is, the path never makes that leap for you. It stays firmly in vacation-planning mode. I didn't walk away with a framework for my team, just a nice-looking itinerary for a trip I'm not taking.
