Reviewer's verdict

A quick, high-level overview, not a technical guide. It's useful for orienting yourself within the Power Platform's AI services but offers no practical skills.

Who it's for

Functional consultants or business analysts inside the Microsoft ecosystem who need a high-level map of AI components in Power Platform.

Who should skip it

Developers or self-learners looking for hands-on labs or technical implementation details. Anyone outside the MS ecosystem.

Pros

  • Provides a structured, high-level overview of AI capabilities within Power Platform.
  • Maps specific business problems to corresponding AI patterns and components.
  • Content is up-to-date with recent Copilot and AI Builder features.

Cons

  • Zero hands-on interaction; it's a pure reading exercise with no labs or sandbox.
  • Stays at a very high, almost marketing-level, abstraction.
  • The 'Knowledge Check' is trivial and doesn't test real understanding.

A diagram of AI-first patterns for business processes was the most useful part, giving me a mental model for where to even start. But it's just a diagram and some text. Without a single practical example to work through, it’s all just theory. The entire 35-minute module is like this: a high-level tour of product marketing slides. There are no labs. No sandbox. No Power Apps to click through. You just read descriptions of components like AI Builder and Dataverse, then get quizzed on which product name maps to which business problem.

I was hoping for a step up from the intro modules, something that actually showed how to *design* a solution. Instead, it feels like a pre-sales document turned into a web page. For instance, it lists 'extensibility options' like connecting to Azure Machine Learning, but only tells you *that* you can do it, not *how* or *why* you would choose one path over the other. The whole thing reads like a catalog.

I clicked through it in less than half an hour and did learn the names for a few more Microsoft services. I can't say I learned how to 'design' anything, though. It’s a map of a territory you're not allowed to enter.
