This isn't a strategy guide. It's an abstract, jargon-heavy catalog of Microsoft's AI tools. It fails to connect the 'what' (products) with the 'why' (business value) for anyone outside the designated 'Solution Architect' role.

Who it's for
Solution architects already deep inside the Microsoft Dynamics/Power Platform ecosystem.
Who should skip it
Product managers or business leaders looking for a high-level framework.
Pros
Provides a structured list of Microsoft products for building agents.
Covers the full spectrum from simple task automation to autonomous agents.
Cons
Extremely abstract; reads like a product catalog and API documentation.
Lacks concrete business scenarios or case studies.
Overloaded with product names and jargon, making it hard to grasp the 'why'.
No hands-on component to test the concepts.
My team's been talking about 'agents' nonstop, and I hoped this module would give me a mental model for what that means beyond just a chatbot. Instead, I got lost in a sea of product names. Dynamics 365 this, Copilot Studio that, Power Platform connectors… it felt less like a course on design and more like a glossary for a certification exam.
The entire thing is presented at an impossibly high level of abstraction. It talks about 'designing task agents' and 'designing autonomous agents,' but never shows you what one looks like in the wild. What's a real business problem an autonomous agent solved for a real company? How did they spec it out? How is it different from the workflow automation we’ve been doing for years? The module never answers these questions. It just lists the Microsoft tools you would hypothetically use.
There's a section on 'Responsible AI tenets,' which is just a link to Microsoft's guidelines. That's it. It’s a missed opportunity to discuss the actual tough questions: how do you handle an agent making a mistake with a customer? What are the guardrails?
I walked away with a list of products but no clearer idea of how to structure a conversation with my engineering team about building one. It’s like reading a car’s parts list to learn how to drive.
