Reviewer's verdict

A useful, if dry, vocabulary lesson for anyone working with a team that uses Dynamics 365 Sales. Don't expect to learn how to actually sell anything.

New business users or PMs who need to know what a 'Sales Close Agent' is in the context of Dynamics 365.

Who it's for

New business users or PMs who need to know what a 'Sales Close Agent' is in the context of Dynamics 365.

Who should skip it

Anyone looking for sales strategy, negotiation tactics, or hands-on practice.

Pros

  • Quick overview of Microsoft's AI terminology for sales.
  • Lots of screenshots showing the UI.
  • Explains the difference between 'Research Agent' and 'Engage Mode'.

Cons

  • No hands-on sandbox; it's just reading and looking at pictures.
  • Very high-level, almost a feature brochure.
  • The 'Knowledge Check' is trivial multiple choice.

Our sales lead kept mentioning 'Copilot is handling the research,' and I was picturing someone just copy-pasting into ChatGPT. This module finally clarified what he meant. It turns out this isn't a course about closing deals; it's a glossary for Microsoft's specific AI tools inside Dynamics 365. As a product manager, that's actually what I needed, but the title is misleading.

The 'Research Agent' is an automated thing that pulls internal data (past wins, product info) and external data (market news, competitor filings). The 'Engage Mode' is the part that sits on a Teams call, transcribing and summarizing sentiment. Good to know.

But that's all you get. It's a tour of screenshots. There's no sandbox, no demo environment. You just read about what these buttons do. The knowledge check at the end is basically 'Did you remember the name we just told you?'. It's the equivalent of reading the back of a very expensive board game box.

Is it useful? Yes, for a very specific purpose: decoding what your sales team is talking about. It took me under an hour. Now I understand their workflow and the data they're using. I won't be closing any deals with it, but at least I'll know what 'sentiment monitoring' means in our next sprint planning meeting.
