Reviewer's verdict

This is a guided tour of the Copilot Studio UI, not a course for building robust agents. It shows you which buttons to click inside the Microsoft ecosystem, and that's about it.

Who it's for

Internal IT teams or business analysts needing a quick tour of Microsoft's agent builder UI.

Who should skip it

Developers looking to build anything complex or non-Microsoft-centric.

Pros

  • Quick introduction to the Copilot Studio interface.
  • Covers the basic concepts like topics and entities.
  • The sandbox environment doesn't require a credit card.

Cons

  • Feels more like a product demo than a training module.
  • Exercises are just guided clicks through the UI.
  • Zero coding, zero real-world integration challenges shown.

Building the 'Contoso' pizza bot was an afternoon of just clicking where the guide told me to. Generative answers, topic triggers, slot filling—it's all there, but you're just following screenshots. The 'lab' is a sandbox where you can't break anything, and also can't build anything real. My main takeaway is how the UI is laid out.

It feels like it was designed to get a manager to approve a purchase, not to teach an engineer how to solve a problem. There’s no discussion of what happens when your data source isn't a neat SharePoint list or when an API call fails. It's a pure happy-path tour. I guess it's a start if your entire world is Microsoft 365, but you learn the official names for a few features and that's about it.
