Reviewer's verdict

A 20-minute product feature list, not a training module. Use it as a table of contents for what to Google next, but don't expect to learn any skills.

Who it's for

Security engineers needing a quick checklist of Azure SQL security features.

Who should skip it

Anyone looking for hands-on practice or deep understanding.

Pros

  • Quick overview of relevant Azure SQL security tools.
  • Covers modern authentication like Managed Identity.
  • Acts as a good pointer to official documentation.

Cons

  • No hands-on sandbox; it's just text and screenshots.
  • Very high-level, you can't learn how to *do* anything from this.
  • Knowledge check is a simple vocabulary test.

I was hoping to try out Microsoft Entra ID–only authentication, but this entire module is just text and screenshots. There's no sandbox, no lab, not even a command to copy and paste. You can’t actually try anything. It felt like reading the back of a shampoo bottle—here are the ingredients, but good luck making it yourself.

The final quiz just asks you to match terms like 'Dynamic Data Masking' to their one-sentence definitions from the text you just scrolled past. I clicked through it in about 15 minutes and felt like I’d just read a marketing page. It gives you a list of security features, which is fine, but you'll have to go find other videos or docs to actually learn how to implement them. This is a map, not a vehicle.
