A skippable product tour. This is Azure resource management, not AI. Read the docs page on Foundry architecture instead; it’s faster.

Who it's for
Azure admins getting an early look at Foundry's resource model.
Who should skip it
Developers or anyone expecting to build an actual AI application.
Pros
Clear explanation of the hub-and-project resource hierarchy.
Introduces a very new Azure product.
The exercise uses a live sandbox, not just screenshots.
Cons
The exercise is just running a pre-written ARM template; you don't configure anything.
Feels more like a product brief than a technical training.
Doesn't connect the infrastructure to any actual AI development workflow.
The hands-on exercise was a letdown. It’s just an ARM template deployment masquerading as a lab. I clicked 'Deploy to Azure' on a pre-canned template and watched it provision a resource group, a hub, a project, and some key vault policies. Then it was over. I didn't configure a single connection or policy myself. It felt like watching a sales demo on fast-forward.
I was hoping to understand how this differs from just setting up separate resource groups and v-nets manually. The diagrams are okay, showing the hub as a central governance point and projects as the workspaces. But I still don't have a feel for the day-to-day. What does a developer see inside their 'Project'? What happens when they need a new library? How does the admin approve it? This module answers none of that. It's strictly about the initial provisioning from an administrator's point of view, and even that is fully automated in the exercise.
The content is just a high-level overview of resource hierarchy—Hubs contain Projects, connections can be shared from the Hub level. That's it. I got more out of reading the official documentation for five minutes than I did from clicking through this hour-long module. It introduces the names of the components, but provides zero intuition for how they work together to actually enable an AI workload.
