Reviewer's verdict

A quick product tour of the new Outlook. Don't expect to learn any productivity skills, just where the buttons moved.

Who it's for

Absolute beginners who have never used an email client and need a product tour.

Who should skip it

Anyone who has used any version of Outlook in the last decade.

Pros

  • Quick overview of the new UI.
  • Covers the absolute basics like sending, scheduling, and attachments.
  • Up-to-date screenshots.

Cons

  • Extremely basic; more of a product manual than a course.
  • No real exercises or hands-on practice, just reading.
  • The 'Knowledge Check' is trivial.

My university's email just switched to the new Outlook, and the search function is completely broken. I was hoping this module had some power-user tricks or at least explained the new indexing. Nope. It's a glorified user manual. You read about what the 'Send' button does. You read about attachments. The knowledge check literally asks, 'What button do you click to send an email?'

I clicked through the whole thing in maybe 10 minutes. It’s just a series of screenshots with captions. There's zero depth. It doesn't teach you how to manage a busy inbox or find things faster; it just shows you where the features from the old version now live. If your grandparents are using a computer for the first time, this might be useful. For anyone else, it’s a waste of time. And my search is still broken.
