Reviewer's verdict

This is an hour-long, clickable glossary of Microsoft's agent-building stack. It's a product catalog, not a course. Useful if you need to quickly learn the official names for everything, but it won't teach you how to build anything.

Who it's for

Architects or managers needing a quick map of Microsoft's agent-building products.

Who should skip it

Developers looking for code, tutorials, or how to actually connect these tools.

Pros

  • Provides a single-page map of Microsoft's sprawling AI agent ecosystem.
  • Introduces terms like 'Microsoft Fabric' and 'Microsoft IQ' in context.
  • Links out to deeper documentation for each product mentioned.

Cons

  • No hands-on activities or sandbox; purely a reading exercise.
  • Feels like an interactive marketing brochure, not a technical course.
  • Doesn't explain *how* to choose, just lists the options available.

A teammate sent me this, so I read through it in about 40 minutes. The unit on governance and identity was a single page mentioning Microsoft Entra and Purview, and that’s it. Unit 2 lists the build tools, Unit 3 lists the channels, Unit 5 lists more tools. It’s a series of pages that say “For X, you can use A, B, or C,” with a link to each product's homepage. There's no lab, no sandbox, not even a hypothetical case study to walk through. I was hoping for a decision tree or some criteria for *how* to choose, but the module just presents the menu.

I get what it's for. Someone in a meeting is throwing around terms like 'Copilot Studio,' 'Graph connectors,' and 'Microsoft IQ,' and this module gives you a quick map so you can nod along. It's like a pre-sales presentation slide deck turned into a web page. But the title is 'Choose tools and services.' It doesn't actually guide you in making a choice. For example, it doesn't say, 'If your data is in SharePoint, use a Graph connector; if it's in a SQL database, use a Power Platform connector.' It just says those things exist.

The final knowledge check was revealing. The questions were basically 'Which product does X?' and 'What is the name of the service for Y?'. It's testing your recall of the brochure, not any technical understanding. I guess it saves me from watching a one-hour keynote on YouTube, but don't come here expecting to learn how to build an agent.
