Reviewer's verdict

A useful one-hour primer for managers to understand what Power Apps can do, but it won't teach you how to actually build anything complex.

Who it's for

Product managers or business analysts wanting a high-level tour of Power Apps capabilities.

Who should skip it

Developers or anyone needing to build a real, production-ready application.

Pros

  • Quick, high-level overview of what a 'model-driven app' is.
  • Clear screenshots guide you through the UI.
  • Good for understanding the jargon your IT department might use.

Cons

  • More of a guided tour than a hands-on build.
  • Doesn't explain the 'why' behind many of the choices.
  • The final 'app' is too simple to feel like a real accomplishment.

The 'Modify Forms' unit was the click moment for me. It showed exactly where our IT team goes to add or hide fields on the screens we use every day. Half the mystery of our internal tools just vanished. It's not about learning to code; it’s about learning the language of the tool so you can have a smarter conversation with the people who do.

This isn't a course for building your dream app. You're mostly just following a recipe, clicking where the pictures tell you to click. But as a PM, that's fine. My goal wasn't to become a Power Apps developer. It was to understand what's a 'five-minute fix' versus a 'five-week project,' and how to write a better request ticket. For that, it was a good use of an hour.
