Reviewer's verdict

It's a free product demo. Use it to see what Microsoft's agent builder looks like, but don't expect to learn transferable AI principles.

Who it's for

Absolute beginners needing a quick tour of Microsoft's no-code agent builder.

Who should skip it

Anyone looking for practical AI skills or to build something outside the M365 ecosystem.

Pros

  • Completely free to access.
  • Hands-on exercises follow the steps exactly.
  • Good for a quick, high-level overview of the tooling.

Cons

  • Essentially an extended product tutorial, not a real course.
  • Skills are not transferable outside the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Doesn't explain the 'why' behind the steps.

The SharePoint exercise is where this whole thing falls apart. The first half is just clicking through the Copilot Studio UI, fine. But then you hit the SharePoint part, and if your dev tenant doesn't have the exact site template or list setup, good luck. The screenshots in the guide are from a perfect, pre-baked environment that mine wasn't.

I spent more time trying to reverse-engineer their SharePoint setup than I did on the agent itself. This isn't really a 'course' on building agents. It’s a guided tour of a Microsoft product, and it assumes you're already living inside their admin panel. Yes, it's free, but my time isn't. I got the badge, but I didn't feel like I learned a general skill. It's more of a sales demo you have to click through yourself.
