Reviewer's verdict

A product manual disguised as a course. Skim it for keywords if you already use SQL Server, but don't expect to learn how to build anything.

Who it's for

Architects or existing SQL Server users needing a quick overview of new AI features in SQL Server 2025.

Who should skip it

Beginners trying to learn SQL, Python, or practical AI implementation from scratch.

Pros

High-level summary of new AI capabilities in SQL Server 2025.
Quick to complete.
Introduces concepts like vector data and RAG within the SQL Server context.

Cons

No hands-on coding; just reading text and looking at code snippets.
Too high-level to be of practical use for building a real application.
The 'knowledge check' is trivial.

The 'Implement Vector Search' unit is just a few code snippets you can't run. This isn't a lab; it's a blog post chopped into slides. The whole thing felt like reading a press release about SQL Server 2025's new features. I got the badge, but I didn't learn how to actually write the T-SQL for a RAG app. I guess I know the feature exists now, which is something.
