A solid conceptual primer for PMs who need to understand what's possible with Copilot Studio's automation capabilities, but it won't teach you how to actually build a complex agent from scratch.

Who it's for
PMs and citizen developers needing to map out how Copilot Studio can automate multi-step business logic beyond simple Q&A.
Who should skip it
Developers looking for a deep dive into API integrations or anyone expecting hands-on coding.
Pros
Clearly explains the mental model of 'agent flows' vs. simpler 'topics'.
Connects the dots between user prompts and backend business processes like order lookups.
Good conceptual overview of how to chain actions and use logic (conditions, loops).
Cons
Relies heavily on screenshots and text; more of a guided tour than a hands-on lab.
The 'Knowledge Check' is trivial and doesn't test real understanding.
Feels like a feature announcement doc turned into a training module.
The 'For each' loop screenshot finally made it click for me. It showed how a bot could list out multiple orders for a customer. Before this, I couldn't explain to my team the difference between a simple FAQ bot (which Copilot Studio calls 'topics') and a bot that actually *does* something complex, like look up an order status in our system. That visual showing the loop was key, because it proved the logic could go beyond a simple decision tree.
This module is basically a guided tour of that concept. It walks you through scenarios—like a customer asking for recent orders—and shows how you'd chain together actions. You'd have one block to get the user's ID, another to call a Power Automate flow to query the database, and maybe a condition to handle cases where no orders are found. It’s all logical, just presented through screenshots of the Copilot Studio interface. You see where to click to add an action, how to configure a connector, and how to use that 'for each' loop.
As a product manager, this was exactly the level of detail I needed. I don't have to write the Power FX expressions myself. I just need to know that we *can* have loops and call external tools. The module delivers that. It's not a hands-on workshop, though. You're just reading and looking at pictures. I came away understanding the blueprint, but if you handed me a blank canvas in Copilot Studio, I'd still need an engineer to actually hook everything up.
