It’s a conceptual overview, not a practical guide. Read it to learn the official terminology for Foundry agent patterns, but don't expect to learn how to implement them.

Who it's for
Architects or team leads planning a Foundry-based system who need the official vocabulary.
Who should skip it
Developers looking for a hands-on tutorial to build and debug a multi-agent system.
Pros
Provides the official Microsoft terminology for agent design patterns.
Covers important concepts like adaptive decomposition and handoff protocols.
Quick to get through.
Cons
Zero code or practical examples.
Feels more like an internal design document than a training module.
Quiz is a simple vocabulary check.
I did this module right after the one on stateful loops. The handoff protocol diagrams are clean, I'll give them that. They lay out the concepts: adaptive decomposition, context preservation, balancing granularity. It’s the right vocabulary for a design meeting. The problem is, it’s just vocabulary. There’s no code, no API snippets, no 'here's a broken handoff, now fix it.' The whole thing feels like reading the spec for a feature my team hasn't been given access to yet. The knowledge check just confirmed my suspicion—it only asks if you remember the names of the concepts. This is useful if you're an architect about to write a design doc using Foundry, but for a builder, it’s a theoretical exercise. I'm still not sure how I'd actually implement a robust context handoff between two agents.
