Reviewer's verdict

This is a product tour, not a course. It's a quick way to see what Copilot *can* do in a finance context, but you won't learn to do anything yourself.

Best for

Business users curious about what a Copilot prompt looks like.

Watch for

Zero hands-on; it's a slideshow of prompts someone else ran.

Who it's for

Business users curious about what a Copilot prompt looks like.

Who should skip it

Anyone trying to learn AI, finance, or how to build agents.

Pros

  • Short and to the point.
  • Shows a few concrete prompt examples for financial tasks.
  • Up-to-date screenshots.

Cons

  • Zero hands-on; it's a slideshow of prompts someone else ran.
  • No real financial concepts explained.
  • Uses the word 'agent' for what are essentially long prompts in a chat box.

Can an agent help with financial analysis? The knowledge check says yes. The answer is, of course, yes. That's the level we're at here. You don't build anything. There are no labs or code. This is a 40-minute slideshow where Microsoft shows you screenshots of prompts they ran in Copilot. You see a prompt, you see the output, you click next. The whole thing feels like an extended advertisement for a product I don't have access to.

They call these long prompts 'agents,' like the 'Explain Financial Variance Analyst Agent,' which is just one big paragraph. It says 'Beginner,' but it’s really for a non-technical manager who just heard the word AI. Calling this 'developing skills' is a real stretch. It's just watching someone else use a tool.
