Reviewer's verdict

A decent 90-minute product demo for the new Copilot Agent features. It shows the happy path for fixing simple, pre-packaged security bugs. It won't teach you security, but it does show you the tool's intended workflow.

Who it's for

Developers who already use GitHub Copilot and want a quick tour of the new Agent features for issue resolution.

Who should skip it

Beginners learning code security from scratch; this is a tool demo, not a security fundamentals course.

Pros

  • Quick, hands-on exercise with a pre-configured repo.
  • Shows a practical workflow for using Copilot Agent on common security vulnerabilities.
  • Up-to-date with recent GitHub Copilot features.

Cons

  • The 'vulnerabilities' are simplified for the exercise.
  • More of a guided tour than a deep-dive; you're mostly following instructions.
  • Assumes you're already sold on the Copilot ecosystem.

The SQL injection example was a little too perfect. Copilot Agent spits out the fix, you copy-paste, exercise passed. It feels more like a sales demo than a real test. Good for a quick look at the UI and the `/fix` command, but don't expect it to handle messy, undocumented legacy code. It's a tool walkthrough, plain and simple.
