Reviewer's verdict

This module is a product brochure in disguise. It lists what Copilot can do without teaching you how to do it effectively. Skip it and go straight to experimenting with prompts yourself.

Who it's for

Absolute beginners looking for a product tour of Copilot's features.

Who should skip it

Learners seeking practical prompting skills or hands-on labs.

Pros

  • Provides a quick, high-level overview of what Copilot can do.
  • Introduces features like using it as a personal tutor.
  • Links to other relevant Microsoft Learn modules.

Cons

  • No hands-on exercises; it's entirely text-based.
  • The content feels like a marketing presentation, not a skill-building course.
  • Knowledge check questions are extremely basic and test rote memorization.

Unit 3, “Use Microsoft Copilot As Your Personal Tutor,” just lists things you could ask it. The whole thing is a series of screenshots and bullet points. No sandbox, no interactive elements, not even a suggested prompt to try on my own machine. It feels like a PowerPoint deck someone read aloud into a text file. The final quiz just asks you to recall which button to click from a screenshot shown two pages earlier. It's not a skills check; it's a memory test on their marketing copy. I get it's an intro, but it's more of a product feature list than a tutorial. It shows you a picture of a hammer but doesn't let you pick one up. I ended up just opening Copilot in another tab and trying to replicate the examples, which was more useful.
