Who it's for

Absolute beginners needing a quick, high-level overview of search concepts and Copilot.

Who should skip it

Anyone looking for technical details, hands-on practice, or a deep dive into prompt engineering.

Pros

  • Very fast to complete.
  • Covers modern concepts like reasoning engines and Copilot.
  • Good for a quick conceptual refresher.

Cons

  • Extremely superficial; reads like a marketing deck.
  • The 'Knowledge Check' is trivial.
  • No hands-on component or real practice.
  • Prompt engineering section is just a few basic tips.

The prompt engineering unit was the reason I took this, but it was just a single page of 'be clear, add context.' The whole module felt like that—a sequence of blog posts stitched together. You read about crawlers, then reasoning engines, and finally a quick mention of Microsoft Copilot. It's all text and a final multiple-choice quiz you could pass by guessing.

I suppose it gives you the right keywords for a conversation, but there's nothing to actually *do*. No lab, no sandbox, no difficult questions. It feels more like a product overview for Copilot disguised as a search theory module. I finished it in about 35 minutes while waiting for a build to finish. It’s... fine? But I didn't walk away with any new skills.
