Cons

Feels more like a product feature tour than a real training module.
The 'volunteer management' aspect is thin; it's really just a Copilot demo with nonprofit-themed text.
The volunteer recruitment exercise gave me a prompt for a social media post. Copilot's sandbox returned a perfectly bland, three-hashtag paragraph. I tweaked the prompt, tried again, and got another flavor of vanilla. That’s the whole loop here. You're given a generic prompt, you see a generic output, and then you're asked to confirm you saw it. It's a demo, not a skill-building exercise.
My team works with small nonprofits, and their real problem isn't a lack of generic social media copy. It's figuring out how to talk to Copilot to get something that reflects their specific voice and mission. This module doesn't teach that. It shows you that Copilot *can* write a volunteer role description or draft a thank-you email, but the prompts are so straightforward they feel like manual entries for a feature list. 'Write a one-day training agenda for new animal shelter volunteers.' Okay, it did it. Now what? How do I make it good? How do I refine it? The module never goes there.
It feels like marketing material repurposed into a training path. It successfully shows the buttons work but fails to provide a mental model for how to actually work with an AI assistant. It doesn't connect the prompts to any larger strategy of volunteer engagement. If you've never used a generative AI tool before, this might be a gentle, non-threatening 40 minutes. For anyone else, it’s a tour of the obvious.
