Reviewer's verdict

This isn't a course, it's a feature list. Skim it in 15 minutes if you have zero idea what Copilot is, but don't expect to learn how to actually *use* it.

Who it's for

Absolute beginners wanting a quick, high-level overview of what Copilot is supposed to do.

Who should skip it

Anyone looking for practical tutorials, prompt engineering skills, or hands-on exercises.

Pros

  • Extremely fast to complete.
  • Gives a broad, marketing-level summary of Copilot's features.
  • Up-to-date screenshots and feature list.

Cons

  • Zero hands-on practice; it's a read-only experience.
  • Feels more like an extended product manual than a training module.
  • The 'knowledge check' quizzes are trivial and don't test any real understanding.

The 'Elevate Your Job Search' unit showed a screenshot of Copilot generating interview questions. The knowledge check then asked, 'Can Copilot help you prepare for a job interview?' The answer, obviously, was yes. That’s the entire experience. It’s not training; it's a brochure you have to click through.

There are no labs. No sandboxes. No exercises. You don’t write a single prompt. You just read descriptions of what the tool can do, look at canned examples, and then answer a multiple-choice question confirming you read the sentence. I finished the whole thing in under 30 minutes, and most of that was just scrolling.

I get that it’s an introductory module, but it feels designed for a VP who has five minutes between meetings to figure out what their team is talking about. The content is so surface-level it’s almost useless. For example, the section on analyzing documents basically just says 'Copilot can analyze documents.' It doesn't show you how to handle a complex PDF, what to do when the summary is bad, or how to iterate on a prompt. It only shows a perfect output from a perfect input.

If you have genuinely never heard of this tool, it’s a fast way to see the feature list. But if you’re hoping to learn how to integrate it into your workflow, you’ll learn more from 10 minutes of just using the actual tool.
